    Solid and Flashy

I'm going to preface all of my reviews by saying I've purchased several pairs of boots from various Dan Post lines this year (I have a nerve issue with my feet and continue to seek the most accommodating fit.) I will also mention that Dan Post (ostensibly) offers $10 back on your purchase for leaving a review. These are very solid mid-tier boots. All of Laredo's Cowboy Approved offerings are a step down in quality from the more expensive Dan Post line but are still well made for their price point, and seem to perform admirably in 'real work' environments, as one would expect. Construction-wise the Ward is the most solid-seeming I've tried out of the Cowboy Approved line. The leather used in the upper is rather thick for a boot this price and the shaft is quite rigid. Outsoles are hard rubber and should take some punishment and hold up to road salt. Heels are comfortable to walk on but they are fairly loud on hard surfaces (I prefer quieter boots, personally). Removable insoles are my least favorite Laredo variety, a sort of no-frills foam rubber. It's not the most comfortable boot you've ever worn, but there's nothing wrong with it, either. Style-wise they're quite pretty. The uppers are mildly weathered and won't raise any eyebrows, while the shafts are quite striking (not that anyone has to know if you don't want them to). The white seam running down does look fairly out of place against the brown, however. These boots are made in India.
